Bring JAA to Your Community!

In life, we’re presented with a lot of firsts – first steps, first words, first day at school, first job. Ideally, we’d like all of these milestones to go off without a hitch, but sometimes, we need help getting there. What do you do when you realize your child needs assistance? What is the best way to be involved with your child’s education? As a student with a disability, who is there to help you with formal transition planning? And, what happens when childhood fades and you grow up?

You’re not in this alone – the Jewish Abilities Alliance is here for you and your family!

The Jewish Abilities Alliance (JAA) is the Jewish community’s network that links individuals with disabilities, and their families, to resources, services, support groups, workshops and recreational programs within their community.

The website – www.jewishabilities.org – features information and resources on everything from advocating for a child with a learning disability to navigating the transition to adulthood.

Developed by a team of skilled disability-service providers, our content is all-encompassing, easy to navigate and built for you as a “how-to” resource. In addition, communities that sign on for their own local chapter will receive management, support and web training from the National JAA Website Coordinator housed in Baltimore.
